G-8 Clout Diminishes As Other Nations Emerge

At the G-8 summit in Italy, the developed nations are pressing China, India and other emerging market countries on such issues as greenhouse gas emissions and trade. But the G-8 clout is diminishing. Recent weeks have brought increasing evidence of the "decoupling" of the emerging economies and the developed economies. Many of the advanced economies are burdened by heavy debt and facing gloomy economic prospects, while the emerging economies — especially China and India — are poised to lead the way to a global recovery.

Thousands Protest In Iran, Defying Ban

There were clashes in the streets of Tehran on Thursday as security forces cracked down on protesters who were in the streets for two causes: They were chanting in support of defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi; and they were marking the 10th anniversary of student protests against the regime. Robert Siegel talks to Ramin Mostaghim, a special correspondent in Tehran for the Los Angeles Times.

Did CIA Mislead Congress? Pelosi Is Mum

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday declined to step into the simmering debate over whether the CIA misled Congress for years after 2001. In a letter released this week, Democrats say agency chief Leon Panetta disclosed the long-term deception last month.

A woman, What A blessing

She smiled with the essence of beauty radiating sunshine.

in the spring time. Her eyes, oh how they shine and are like the golden chariots

of Heaven displaying the treasures of her spirit and soul.

With the voice of an angelic tonality that has you intently

listening when she utters simplistic words of joy which are like music to your ears.

She is a woman strategically created to enhance our atmosphere.
